My work evolves through direct observation which I then develop and translate into an abstract interpretation. Inspiration often comes from the immediate – my garden, the local park, my kitchen – and sometimes from further afield.

With collage I use the paper as if it were paint, layering, subtracting and manipulating it to create what is hopefully an interesting interpretation.

I apply the same techniques to my textile pieces, using the needle and embellisher (felting machine) to work in to the 'ground’ as if it were a pencil or a brush.

I am also a printmaker. The variety of effects that can be achieved through applying the ink in different ways, whether that be through colour or the method of application I find very exciting even though the result can be totally unpredictable.

I am a member of Caversham Arts Trail and the Reading Guild of Artists.
